What Are the Symptoms of CAD?

Symptoms of CAD can vary from person to person. However, many people have no symptoms and do not find out they have CAD until symptoms occur, such as chest pain or a heart attack.

CAD can cause serious complications, including:

  • Angina (chest pain)
  • Heart attack
  • Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats)
  • Heart failure (heart muscle cannot pump as much blood as the body needs)
  • Sudden cardiac arrest (heart stoppage)

For more information about the symptoms of CAD, see Coronary Heart Disease.

Having an action plan for what to do when symptoms occur allows early treatment to help keep symptoms from getting worse. When you enroll in our CAD DM program, you will receive an action plan that you and your doctor can customize to meet your needs.
